Abstract

In the book Encuentro Internacional Emil Cioran 2008-2011, editorial Universidad Tecnológica de Pereira, its compilers Liliana Herrera and Alfredo Abad collect a series of essays that offer a global image of Emil Cioran's philosophy. Divided into three parts: Cioranian considerations, philosophy and literature, and Romanian culture, the 18 essays that make up the text recreate the points of view that ubiquitously run through Cioran's philosophy. As proof of the universal character of its philosophy, the book presents in 4 languages the works that researchers from France, Romania, Holland and Colombia have done about a thinker who, however much he refused to make his life a universal and timeless experience, already occupies a place in the Pleiad of philosophers always alive in the history of thought.
